Operation Inasmuch
One day, for one reason, with one purpose.

One day
On April 19th, 2008, Mint Hill Baptist Church participated with over 800 churches across N.C. in the one day missions effort titled Operation Inasmuch.  The name comes from Jesus' words in Matthew 25:40.  Speaking as the King on the day of judgment He tells those who fed the hungry, gave drink to the thirsty, took in strangers, and visited the sick and imprisoned "Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to Me."

One reason
Matthew 25:40 amounts to a commission from Jesus to care for others.  This pleases Him.  Indeed, He says by doing acts of service to the people around us, we are actually doing service to Him.  Our one and only reason for participating in Operation Inasmuch was to please Christ.

One purpose
Soli Deo Gloria is a Latin phrase adopted as a motto by the Reformation.  It simply means "to God alone be the glory."  This was the one and only purpose of Operation Inasmuch.  Our involvement sought to glorify God by doing what pleases Christ.  Jesus, speaking of the Cross, said "and I, if I be lifted up from the earth will draw all peoples to Myself"(John 12:32 NKJV).  We also are to be drawing people to Christ.  He commands us "in the same way let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
(Matthew 5:16)
